Today is October 1st, 2017 and summer is officially over or as I’ve read on facebook the season for “I’ll loose weight till summer is over” and the season for “I’ll loose weight till Christmas” is open!
It’s Sunday and a week after I came back from my summer vacation in Malta. By the way this is me drinking coffee with my neighbor in the nearby coffee bar. Lovely fall colors, my country is stunningly beautiful in fall.
So sadly the natural high I was living on has completely faded away. I had a fantastic time in Malta and I need to write a post about it, I have so many pictures to show. But I also went to Volos, Greece this summer, I have so many pictures to write a beautiful post about it. Not to mention my last year’s vacation on Corfu, Greece and you guest it – so many photos waiting to be used and still I have not written a post about it. Where does the time fly away?
I’m sitting here and I have so many ideas and it seems that all I do is jump from one to another in pure excitement. It’s when I sit down to realize those ideas that they take so much time that I never seem to find. This never ending circle is simply driving me crazy. My memory is getting filled with new things so naturally I don’t quite remember last summer as much. This is particularly making me mad about myself.
So What’s Been Happening And What’s New?
First of all I treated myself with a new smart phone, and not just any but the vary latest and the very best from Samsung, namely Samsung S8. I splurged an enormous amount of money on it – and I never planned it, it just turned out that way. And I am SO NOT sorry about it. Believe me it’s a work of art and it works perfectly.
I bought it mainly for the camera – photos are my love and passion but as usual I never have the time to turn it into something bigger. And what a great camera it has! I am so pleased, all my photos are top notch. Here is one from Blue Grotto, Malta:
Here is another one (I don’t want to put all of my photos here as I plan on writing posts about Malta but just to show you the details and the colors of what the Samsung S8 camera can do). Flower against wall, Mdina, Malta:
My Biggest Surprise This Summer
It’s a book!
I have finally come to the conclusion that nothing replaces a good old fashioned paper book when going to vacation. I’ve tried smartphone, I’ve tried a tablet but nope – it simply can’t replace holding a paper book. No batteries out, no too bright sun on the screen, no fear from sand scratches….
So this is the jewel that I have found this year:
Who would have thought? Agatha Christie!
I was convinced the book will be outdated, old fashioned in a way, but great talent never fades away. What a refreshing writing style! How elegant, how aristocratic and how intelligent!
The book consists of little stories from her life and none is boring! I could not believe it! Her words are like sweet fruits and this is the best book I’ve read in years. What an amazing true talent this woman had! What a gift! I’m a total fan now and I am getting all her books – in English version if I can find them – or afford them.
She has included a few precious pictures which makes this book even greater:
Her books are definitely my newfound candies in life 🙂
I Missed My Cat
There were moments when I was wondering what it was doing back home and if everything was ok. I don’t care if it sounds funny but I truly missed it. When I got home she wouldn’t let go of my lap the whole day. She just couldn’t say it but I know she missed me too:
Finally I Survived!
This may sound like a strange statement for a vacation but there were moments when I was extremely scared. Like that time on a sight seeing boat that went to open water and the waves were big and they rocked the boat up and down too high for my taste. Managing to find the way around Malta was also scary sometimes, luckily Google Maps was a life saver. I lost my friend at the airport at the end and I started panicking with 15 minutes left till closing the gate:
This is me panicking and I could not read my gate the first time so I went frantically looking at tables for my open gate:
All was ok at the end, we found each other and we are hopefully going on more trips soon!
I’m leaving you with one of my favorite Bible quotes:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
